Gadi Fraiman
Gadi Fraiman Born 1958 in Israel,
Currently a member of Kibbutz Mishmar David, Gadi Fraiman is often called a "man of the land". He began sculpting when he was 24 years old and sculpting has remained a central part of his life to this day.

Gadi Fraiman exhibits an uncanny ability to become “one“ with the materials he chooses by developing an intensly intimate relationship with the raw rock, wood, or metal with which he works. He has the remarkable ability to preserve the inherent beauty and natural roughness of the material while expertly blending in the effects of his chisel to create contrasting smooth, finely finished surfaces making the veins in the stones, or the grain of the wood or metal an integral part of each design. Every work that Gadi creates possesses an almost musical quality, with rhythmic movement and an intricate play of light.

Glimpses of the human form become apparent among the undulating designs and amorphous shapes of Fraiman’s creations. It is unusual that a sculptor is able to use such a variety of materials so adeptly. Moreover, it is impressive that a sculptor's emotions are so fully realized in each of his creations.

In 2002, Fraiman established a school of sculpture for works in stone and bronze. In addition to his more personal works, Fraiman has created environmental sculptural intallations at the Biblical Zoo in Jerusalem, the Science Park in Nes Ziona, and other public places throughout Israel and Europe.
